In a cabin in Muskoka, Leslie Howchin creates jewelry inspired by the serenity of her surroundings. A life time cottager, and now full time resident, Leslie is energized by her vibrant family history of Muskoka’s antique boats. A long way from her Interdisciplinary Studies at Ontario College of Art and Design, creative seeds have germinated and bloomed many times over. From creating silicone prosthetics for amputees, to touring with Ozzy Osbourne, this artist’s journey continues to grow. Moth Jewelry is her love. A dramatic breakaway from popular body adornment, she blurs the lines between garment and art. The material is waxed linen, and the possibilities are endless.
